How would you like a glass smooth, rich glossy floor surface that was as hard as rock, as easy to clean as plastic and above all never ever needed waxing to keep its surface smooth and shiny. Sounds good? Well that's the promise of polished concrete and when done by the concrete experts at Dallas Concrete Stamping a polished concrete floor is the perfect mix of great looks and rugged practicality. For those reasons polished concrete is well established as the flooring of choice in areas like warehouses and lobbies but it works just as well in smaller spaces to give domestic flooring a rich professional look at a fraction of the cost of alternatives like marble or granite surfaces. Of course there's not just one standard of polished concrete and for glass smooth perfection you need to go to a team that understands the mix of aggregates and different types of cement that result in smooth seamless surfaces. Then they have to be experts in the different ways of polishing, and if you want glass smooth diamond polished concrete you need painstaking perfectionists who understand the number of times the process must be repeated to achieve that. Lucky for you you just found them with Dallas Concrete Stamping.
How We Do It
How much work is required to produce perfect polished concrete depends on whether you are polishing new or existing concrete, and if it is older concrete then the state that concrete is in may add more layers to the process. Professional polishing is done by a series of steps that begin with grinding away the old surface (presuming it's not a new pour) and then successively sanding it with finer and finer grades of abrasive until finally diamond polishing it and sealing it to give a perfectly polished, stain resistant surface that will look great and stand the test of time.
Polishing Existing Concrete
One of the beauties of polished cement is that we may be able to use the existing cement as the starting point. That means no demolition and no new pouring. Instead we give it a complete face lift by grinding away the old surface and treating it to successively finer grinding and polishing cycles before sealing it.
Polishing Concrete Overlays
We don't need existing concrete to create a polished concrete surface. We can pour a perfect overlay for you to the color that you want then grind and polish that to a perfect sheen. Because we lay the overlay ourselves we can stain it just how you want it and create a surface effect to your design which can be smooth as glass or a fine satin feel as you wish.
White Portland Cement
Think concrete and you think gray. That is largely because of the Portland cement that makes up the best concrete mixes and is naturally gray in color. But there is also white Portland cement which can give you a perfect white marble effect. Talk to us today about the different mixes of cements and aggregates to get different decorative effects for your hard surfaces. Concrete floor polishing can be carried out on existing concrete floors, newly poured concrete or we can lay an overlay and then polish that. Free Quotes.
